It all started 54 or 55 years ago.  Santa stopped leaving baby dolls and left my first Barbie Doll.   Barbie was a step into the big girls’ world.  Now I could choose clothing, do hair, add a hat, and pierce her ears with something from my mom’s sewing box.   Each week on Thursdays,  Aunt Florence took me to 7th street in search of Barbie accessories.  This was a very important decision.  I always looked for something that would match the clothing my Barbie already had or that could be worn with two or three outfits.  The more versatile the new acquisition, the more hours of play it offered.
